I would say yes, especially in the past when the some of the contest money came out of my own pocket. Also, I always communicated with the dancers and they were always willing to let the late-comers dance.

It probably depends on who the late-dancer is, I'm pretty sure that if Gracie Her Many Horses showed up late, the other dancers would more than be happy to have the best competition to dance against. Same thing if it was a Windy Boy. Each category of dancers seem to all be friends with each other and I'm pretty sure that when they find out somebody is late, they do give support in making sure that the late-dancer will get in to compete.

So you are saying it is relative and you are admitting to playing favorites.

That's the entire reason why many folks perceive contest dances as "rigged," and the very argument for NOT allowing registration outside of posted rules.

For $1000, I'd prefer that folks do what they said they were going to do in their published regulations. Anything else permeates the air with an odor of preferential home cooking...

And that home cooking comes up as comfort food and it will never change. Here take a bowl of my mother's dried turnip, dried corn and dried beef soup. It will make life a lot easier for you if just accept it and move on.
