I was asked if the local powwow committee could ask my oldest daughter (11 yrs. old) to be Jr. head Female dancer. I'm just fretting over weather she is ready. I don't want to take long to respond so that they can ask her in a timly fashion or ask someone else. Having been Head Female dancer for this powwow in the past & again this year, I know what's expected from me, & I'd be there to keep an eye over her. So here it is, She's a good dancer, she switched from fancy to tradish this year while we make her jingle dress (we thought it would be good for her to dance tradish first cause she's going to dance old style jingle) she knows the social dances well, is a great patato dancer!, beat be for 2nd place this past weekend, (my partner & I came in 3rd) she behaves well at powwow but is a high strung girl, this makes me wonder if she is ready & plus as her Mom I probably tend to be harder on her. Any suggestions on what to consider for her before I tell the committee to ask her or not, It's harder when it's your own kid, plus I hadn't considered the possibility because they always ask her best friend & I'm not sure why they didn't this year & I don't think it would be very tactful to ask them why it's not her best friend this year.

Personally I think it would be a great experience for her. This is also a great honor for your family. Let her have this experience so as she grows older and is pehaps asked again she would already have this knowledge.
