I noticed you didn't list sound. If you are shopping for it go for Quality. Feed back, cutouts, and bad systems can really drag down a powwow.

I'm working with musicedu77 on the sound. Her powwow is less then three hours drive for me. I gave her some ball park prices and I'm willing to work with her.

Even if she doesn't use our sound system and goes with another, I am willing to help out to get her going with good sound.

Just like any new powwow I'm sure they are starting with limited or no funding. So we should all help out to make it a sucess. This should be a good powwow done in the right way with musicedu77 running it.

I got your e-mail already on the prices and that is pretty good prices. we also might want to put any extra cd's in for our raffel too. Our funding we are working on still. we will get money from on campus that's no doubt but we have to sit down next week and work out the budget. Just for future reference do you guys do more than just sounds and cd's? like video recording powwows?I have called savage hall and some other places to have this at and they have yet to call me back. so many things to think about .

Yes we do video production but it's in an infant stage right now. We have produced some music DVDs but the process is very costly. The reason for this is because we use the sound tracks from the recorded music and sync it with the video. We do not use the video sound track because of the cheap microphones in the cameras. The camera audio recording heads are of a lesser quality as well. The best you will get is a 16 bit at 41khz standard. Our audio standard for recording is a full 32bit at at least 96khz. This is the true professional standard for audio recording. It takes a lot of time to do the job correctly after the powwow is over. Editing the video itself takes quite a few hours to do it right.

If you want raw footage to be burned to a DVD that's another story. That can be done fairly quickly at a much lower cost but the sound quality won't be there.

Just about anyone with a video camera and a computer with the right hardware and software can do the job if you want home movies on DVD. You will also only get DVD compatable standards. The DVDs will work in computers but may not work on a DVD player attached to your TV. Copies of the DVD will also be somewhat crude at best.
