I've seen it around here where I am, just not dancers, the drums too, and its pretty pathetic, always complainin about something. I mean your suppose to be at a pow wow to have fun!

Any time there is a contest dance in OK and anyone does not place 1st, someone (not necessarily the dancers) will have a negative thing to say about the dance, the committee, the MC/AD, the judges, etc. This same thing goes for the drum contest. Usually the participants aren't the ones doing the complaining but the spectators and maybe someone related. We all have someone in the family who is never happy with everything.

First of all these people need to sit down and think of how fortunate we are for even being able to meet the way we do ,to be able to dance , sing Hec just be Indian! Thank the creator for all he has given us and not stress on what we think we dont have, when I load my little family into our van im saying to myself yes its alot of work loading a family of six with every body having their own dance cases ,bustles me haveing to take every dress i own "wich my hubby just loves" ha ha ,getting braides doen i could go on and on but as i dress my sons im telling them to think of our relations those who could not be there the enjoy the felowship , singing dancing to that favorite song that when they hear it they just have to get up and dance ,to the warriors who are serving at this very moment so we can go on with our daily lives be able to travle freely as we please where ever it may be , I was taught by my Cheyenne Mom &Aunties that sort of thing was considered rude and not fealings to be brought up at a dance if you do have a problem bring it up in a good way to the staff and if you still are not happy leave and dont support the dance. You dont have to make an *** of your self to prove a point sorry if ive went on and on but i thought this needed to be brought up. I want to personaly thank Ndnsoldierboy for all that he is doing for all of us over there hope to see you at a dance one day and thank you in person!

i went to a pow wow near me and there was someone there who runnig off at the mouth about anything and everything, nothing was right. I had my massage chair in my car. i knew massage can help quiet some folks down. i knew someone on the head staff, he knew the same thing. so my chair got set up. and i starte to work on whomever wanted to. sure enought this whiner got his sorry but in the chair and was QUIET! YEAH!!!

i got cousins over there and they are still weird. you can be weird regardless of your job or place. wierd can be a good thing.

On the way back to powwow.
-Dam, now I'm gonna be late!! Maybe they'll take my number anyway.

Grand entry has passed
-Whaddya mean, you won't take my number!!!!??? I got stuck in traffic.

Contest time.
-dam, we're going to get so & so singers for our contest song. They're always off-beat.
-Those judges ain't even looking at me.

Prize money awards time.
-dam, I got shafted again. Those judges don't know what they're lookin' for.

On the way home
-I'm never going back there again.

Next year - same ole thing

If you've ever said this or something similar - you're a whiner. You shoulda stayed home and stay home the next week and the week after that too.
Nobodies perfect but.................. some people!
