I want to make beaded harness and drops but here are my questions

How do i measure for harness and drops?
how do i attach them? all together as an H or one hook/belt style in the back leaving the loops for arms?

I'm assuming i then sew the beads onto leather or fabric of some sort to hold shape and durability

Briefly:

The harness is usually worn as a sort of necklace that also has a tie around the waist/back. MY harness is a necklace style with hooks on a short, thin chain that attaches to rings on my belt.

I loom my harness and then sew it to a mid-weight canvas backing, but there is no reason leather couldn't work as well - be aware that your sweat will weaken and corrode the leather over time.

For measurements, I would recommend having a look at some of the pictures in the grass dance gallery and picking out which style you like - then measure to a similar point on your own body - make sense?

oh wait one more question.

how do the side drops hang on the belt? sewn on or velcro? or looped ?

If the belt is beaded, then I would say sew it on. If it's not beaded, then you can wrap and sew it if you like, or just plain sew it again. You'll have to plan your material ahead of time so the colors and applique (if you have any) match up the way you'd like them too.
