Have any one ever stopped and walked off in the middle of a song?

K_Shimkus is an unknown quantity at this point
If it is an intertribal and you've something to attend to, I've seen folks leave the ring. I think its wrong to step out of a contest or exhibition, or any type of honoring songs or grand entry. But in a normal song, I don't think there's any harm. But I'm a novice pow wower.

I was taught that it is poor manners to quit dancing during a song. Songs aren't so long that you can't hang in there for a couple more minutes. Exit when the song is over.

I've walked off on two occasions...both times the songs stunk and were undanceable LOL I was taught it is poor manners to sing on beat, junky songs

Since I know that you and I never sing on beat, that never crossed my mind. :-) (one day I'll learn how to use the smily thingies.)

...I walked out once due to a medical emergency.I started to have an asthma attack,so I walked out,and was immediately confronted by some folks, and after they saw me using my inhaler, they understood.I went over to the drum and placed a 10 dollar bill on it and apologized to them(it was an honoring song),but they said they saw what happened and told me it was cool.I let them keep the 10 tho.Under normal circumstances,I would never leave the circle during honorings or specials, but when you can't help it,it has to be understood by all.I have seen others walk off as a sign of protest....the song was innapropriate,or not sung well, etc.,and it has to be made very clear why it was done so that protocol is understood and follwed....keep smilin'1

Only after being tapped out in a trick dance contest.

Only when I have lost a part of my regalia during the contest. I was taught you disqualify yourself, pick up your item, and walk off. Of course times have changed, but I still stick to the way I was taught.
