Cool Plume style porky spreader

Hey guys, I'm trying to find out how to make or find a plume style porky spreader - not a feather style. I've been using the two feathers for a couple of years now. I want the 'antennae' style like used in Oklahoma. Any suggestons would be appreciated.

Try to find a friend who does silverwork, they should be able to make one for you. It's basically a standard spreader base (actually a little wider to spread it out more), and then you put on guitar string, or piano wire, or a choke cable or something like that. And then you get to experience the joy of poking people's eyes out when you lean in to hear what they're saying over the PA system.

Thanks for the reply...

So, could I also use the lether bases that I'm accustomed to making myself? Do the plumes come out like antennae (right and left) or are they front and back, like the feather styles?

What should I use for the cups, it seems the film cannisters are too big to provide the stability I want...

Thanks again for your reply!

A friend from Browning said to cut a 20" piece of heavy gauge piano wire or guitar string. I used the heaviest guitar string I could find. Since my son is 9, I cut the string to 18". Since I beaded a roach spreader and already had the 2 holes in the spreader, I just threaded the 2 ends thru the 2 holes. Since I didn't like them going backwords I attached them to a bent clothes hanger. I cut a 5" piece of coat hanger and bent it \_/ . I then used waxed floss to wrap the whole thing from the base up to the tips. After the whole thing was wrapped I then attached the feathers. Hope this helpes you out.
