I dance for the pure enjoyment of dancing; I don't care where, when or who's watching either!

Let's see, we've got dancers that have families to clothe, feed and provide housing for and bills to pay or runaway from. What else to you need to know?

When I danced I did it for pure fun. I go powwows just for fun. My grany used to say you're not supposed to do 'Indian stuff' like this for money, so I don't necessarily agree with the whole powwow-career thing, but I respect those who have to.

I agree with the powwow career people but what I don't agree is me having to work Monday through Saturday slaving away for the white folk and for the Navy Exchange Commissary.

Azzif anyones gonna be honest enuff to say they actually DO dance for the money...the same ones who say they dance in "prayer" or for the "fun" if it, are the VERY same ones who get all P.O'd when they dont place.

I just WISH I could dance. Alotta folks have lost sight of whats really important. But for all of you who havent...I'm glad. Peace, and blessings.

Dats kool a dude wit a backbone....Gots to have respect for that. I can imagine how money affects folks, especially in an age of "Instant gratification" We all wanna be viewed as winners, We all wanna succeed at something, someplace...And when I look back, it aint how much Ive won or lost that I remember...its all da friends i've made and all the crazy times I've had that I keep with me in the long run.

You, know what it says on the movie tho, " Make that money, dont let it make you." and just remember theres a million people who just WISH they were right where u are right now. and it could ALL be taken away in an instant so enjoy it all while u got it.

Almost every powwow I go to, I am competing. I have a good time whether I place or not. I'm getting older and don't know how much longer I'll be dancing. Hopefully, I'll be out there for awhile yet. For now though, I'll keep having a good time.

All you young dudes - just have fun.

Thax for the reply and i guess sometimes i go to get money and sometimes i go for fun, like last year i went to like about 10 traditional pow-wows and the most important reason why i go dancing is to socialize with people and make friends and ya
