Ribbon Shred

Good Idea. It can look really cool as long as you keep it neat and take really good care of it.

A friend of mine many years ago had the look and it was created purley by accident. A bunch of ribbons on his pants got caught on an edge in the car and they got all frayed. We could not fix it for that day. So he went with it. Come to find out it looked really cool while he was dancining. So later that night at the Hotel, we went on ahead and frayed out the rest of the ribbon work and sealed the ends with Ribbon Fray from a local Walmart.

Make sure that you put some kind of Ribbon Fray Stop on the ends and keep it looking good. Be very careful about ironing as you never know about some ribbon. Even if it says it was pure silk or something, a lot of manufactures lie. A good steamer is a great investment.

Good Luck.

Shred Ribbon

No it did not have a fluffly look - which I think one would not want a fluffy look since from a distance it would look to much like fur or something.

He had GrosGrain Ribbon (ribbon with a ribbed texture).
