Hi, I just seen my first pow wow like last week and I got really interested in grass and fancy dancing. I wanted to know if there were any useful places or people where I can learn how to do the dances.

Did you read my thread "allen retasket jr" thats me. I'll tell ya that grass dancing..... is all about butt and shoulder shakin, wigglin, whatever you wanna call it. But ya the women judges luv it! try it out.

thats cool, yeah i dont know anything about the dance really it was my first time seeing it like last week so im lost when it comes to the moves you suppose to do. Im from NYC so I dont really see alot of native american dance here lol are there any places like online that have in depth instruction or videos or anything really that I could study from or what would you recommend ? lol

Sorry I can't give you any names of videos or anything like that. If you go to a powwow anytime soon, I'm sure that you'll be able to find a vendor that sells tapes of fancy and grass. I dunno if they have any "How to" tapes, but there should be sumthin helpful there.

My grandma has some tapes about grass dancing just because it helps her make new regalia. But search on google or something like that "grass dance videos" im pretty sure that will help :D
