My 8yo nephew wants to start chicken dancing (he'll be 9 in Feb). Hasn't danced anything yet but wants to dance and to sing, too. Sauk-Suiattle tribe (NW Coastal) so his family background is not really that grounded in our midwest-style powwows in the last few years. So I'm answering here for him.

hey whats up, i started chicken dancing last summer and tell u what i think its the most awesome feeling i 've had in years, i placed the first time i danced and from there on. i get a lot of compliments from the old people saying that i move like the oldstyle chicken dancer.
