You've never seen a chicken dancer in battle? Well last I checked I never seen a straight dancer or tradtional dancer in battle either. Unless you've lived another life and some how manage to recall past life experiences ya know lol. Just because you've never seen something doesn't mean it couldn't of been. And aren't roosters chickens? Last time I checked there were cock fights still going on in certain parts of the usa. As for the what makes someone a chicken dancer comment, I take it that 1. Your not native, or 2.You are native and were raised in a urban setting and have never been around a good powwow. Chicken dancers aren't the only dancers that imitate an animal. There are other certain styles of dancing where the dancers imitate other animals for certain reasons of honoring the said animals.

But since you think its funny of asking if I know or not. Do you know why? To be honest I really don't care why others use them, thats their buisness not mine, I have other things to worry about then why someone uses something or wears something.

That is exactly what I said. Why someone uses something or wears something is none of my buisness. The same goes for me, we may wear some of the same things or use some of the same things but that doesn't mean that we are wearing them or using them for the same reasons. Everything has its own meaning and reasons for use, but each individual piece that people wear or use can have an individual meaning or use behind it. Hence why I said that what someone wears of uses is none of my buisness they may use it or wear it for their own individual reasons. And I don't know why I'm explaining myself to you. Guess I'm being the moron here eh.

Secondly, I've also been on here long enough to know that you are one of the famous TRANSFORMERS. You started out as a white kid just learning from some club or group but have transformed yourself into someone who claims to be Native. To add insult to injury, you are one of the ones who has the ignorance not to know an Indian when you hear one and the audacity to talk down to one. Finally, I don't need to sit back and learn like the rest of you cuz I'm Indian born and bred, BABEEEE. I don't learn my **** from the Internet. I learn it from real live people. You know jammer I am going to have to disagree with you on this. Indians wear stuff because it has meaning and also tells other Indians that because they wear something with a certain design on or color or colors of feathers or carry certains things and the list goes on and on and on, people can ask them to do things, perform ceromonies etc etc etc. Just because you can make something or buy something, doesn't mean you should wear it or carry it.

I know you are talking to Skuya, but being the good Lakota girl she is, she is just doing what she was taught. Indian's don't talk behind people's back. If you hold yourself out to be something or you are wearing something etc etc you have to be able to back it up. That's the whole oral tradition thing I was talking about in another forum. You see Indians get called on stuff all the time at wacipi's up here, in front of everyone. I have noticed white people have trouble with direct confrontation like that.

ANd since when did a lakota tradition or any other nations traditions have anything to do with another nations traditions? I hear what your saying and I understand where your coming from, but I don't believe I have brought up anything within this forum to pertain anything about another nations beliefs. And as far as wearing certain stuff I would thinkg that a person would only wear what they are allowed to wear or should wear for that matter. Micmac's, lakotas, cherokees, seminoles, navajo's, kiowas, pawnee', ponca' all within tow very different nations or tribes could possibly have something in common thatboth different nations could possibly wear but be for or mean two very different things or reasons for wearing them. Oh I don't understand where the comment of talking behind someones back came from. But if someone feels that I have done something or wants to ask me something I don't lie. And I usually don't sugar coat my feelings neither. This isn't meant towards you or anyone else on here for that matter, I'm just stating what I do and won't do.
