Hello all, I just wanted to let every one know of the fourth annual White Star gourd dance on November 17th. The head singer this year once again is Earl Fenner. There will be gourd dancing in the afternoon and evening followed by a intribal session. There will be a pitch in dinner also with the meat provided by Lou and Chris Bell:D .
The dance is held in Clearmont Indiana, at the Lionsville building. There is camping avalible. Plus there are hotels and places to eat also. Please contact me with any questions, Thanks.........TMS

Gentlemen
There was a there all about whitestar not to long ago which may still be in the archive. It explained the who and where of this group. Oh yeah most all the members are not native, or at least the ones I know anyway.

Well.......I had a good time. Good singing and dancing, good grub....just can't knock it. Well attended...about 25 singers and the same number of dancers, plenty of families with the kids playing in the background, moms and dads watching so they don't get too rambunctious. S'all good :D
Did some visiting (ok, lots of visiting), some singing, a little chair dancing (you know when you aint out there but a song that you really likes is being sang and you just can't sit still). The food was great and plenty of it. Lots of money was collected for a certain gal that is having trouble affording all the meds she needs now and that was a good thing. Shoot...I had a really good time ![]() Ya missed out SDinAZ...hopefully next time

(thought of you straightdancerinaz ) After the first set there was a dinner........no, a great dinner....scratch that one too......a FANTASTIC FEED!!! Frybread wasn't JUST frybread I would call it more like "indigenous manna"!!:Angel2 :Angel2 :Angel2 There was one shorter set of gourd dancing, then there was intertribal. The only thing I felt was really missing that would have made it a perfect day, was a good Northern Drum!!!!!!!!!!! ( sorry BUM, TMS, CEM and WYAT I'm a nothern girl....what'd 'ya expect????) :2: |

Enjoyed White Star again this year. Nice folks and good food.
Had fun singing. The singing was on, but the dancers acted like they were zombies !!!! Usually when the singing is good the dancers will make all kinda noise and keep the singers pumped up. c-ya

Hey the dance was really great , the crowd was small but oh well. The food was great, MaMa Bell did a wonderful job with the kitchen. The singing was really good. I had lots of fun out there at the drum. But those dancers need to get excited.
When you out there dancing your not out there to dance for your self your there to help create medicine for those people who are sick. So someone tell those white star people to dance with feelings...............TMS
