That's a goot one
Along that same line, I went to a Comanche dance 7 or 8 years ago where there was a "Best Gourd Dancer" contest. No joke.
I imagined the criteria: --Highest off the floor? --Slickest rattle and fan? --Most times around the arena? --Most dollars dropped? |

Hey Park that's funny, never got to contest in one when I was Stationed at Ft Sill. How many of the women were Judges?
I get ready by eatting as much Fry Bread, Corn Soup, and Fried Chicken as I can get. I also try to drink as much #### #### as I can the night before.

But to answer your question, the way I get in shape for gourd dancing, is the same as Bob, I eat all the frybread and fried chicken I can get my hands on, as I try and try to get myself to look as in shape as those drum singers. LOL. As far as who is my favorite gourd dancer? why...its me! I think they ought to have a contest where the gourd dancers have to dance toward the drum, and whoever gets too close to the drum, gets eaten by them big boys at the drum. Whoever is the last gourd dancer standing, wins an all expenses paid trip to Gotebo. ![]()
