Buffalo Dancing
I just returned from Gathering and I had an experience that was hilarious.
Saturday afternoon gourd dancing was ending and Cozads sang a buffalo dance and it was "mass confusion" LOL I could not believe that those people not from OK did not know how to dance buffalo dance, which is pretty much the norm for here after your last session gourd dance. I bet I bumped about 30 navajos when I danced. LOL |

I would have loved to have seen that. Those are probably the same people that think "Charlie Brown" is the quitting song.

It was funny, but it was sad.....too many wannabee's even in the gourd dance now. Supposed societies and all of that. I was dodging gourds of all kinds and feathers of all kinds....it was crazy. I have seen this dance all my life, my daughter's family on their Comanche side dance this dance from waaayyy back....I have yet to see anyone from OK dance like those people out there were dancing. Otter hats and all. LOL
