go to the Nativetech sight and you will see Nancy Funachello(sp). She goes into great depth on quill working. Or you can attend the conferance in January and they usually have someone there who teachs quill work.
And check with Crazy Crow, they have two good books on Quill working. You cannot miss them. If I had them in front of me I could give you the names. Later when I get time. tipis |

I hope the quills you received already had the hair removed! Gosh, what a chore. You're better off pulling straight from a hide, especially seeing the quill sizes tend to be close within the same area of the hide. And remember, when you think they are clean enough, wash them 3 more times before you dye them! Good luck.

my advice....find a quillworker and give them away. Maybe if you let on that you want to know how to quill, there will be a quick lesson offered.

WOW!! thats a lot of quills!! you should wash them to get the grease of them, then that way you can dye some of them different colors. I have worked with them and made a few Medicine wheels and stuff like that, its not to hard once you get the hang of it. Wrapping is way easyer then sewin them. Takes some practice for sure! http://www.powwows.com/ubb/smile.gif
