kinda hard to explain ... but i will try LOL

1. select an amount of horse hair ... this amount will be folded in half and will have to fit inside the tin cone.

2. depending how long the horse hair you have ... and how long you actually want to be hanging from the tin cone ... you can either jus fold the amount of hair in half ... or fold about 3/4 of an inch of the end of the hair to make a loop.

3. using a thick(er) thread to wrap the loop several times and tie off. this will need to wrapped tight to ensure that the horse hair will not be pulled out with use

4. cut a thin piece of leather (an inch or two should do) ... i usually cut a small slit in one end and then pull it thru the loop. and then pull one end of the leather thru the slit and pulling it until it's "tight" around the loop. it should be wrapped about the horse hair loop.

5. then pull the leather piece thru the tin cone (you might have to use a needle and thread to pull the leather up thru the tin cone) ... there should be more than enough of the leather piece to be used to connect it to the piece you are decorating.
