Latest craft project

Just wanted to show you all my latest craft project. It is a wedding cake topper. My nephew is getting married in about 10 days and asked me to make something for the top of their cake. Not too many indian toppers on the market. The bride to be is Choctaw and he is Otoe and a straight dancer. Thinking about taking orders - all custom made - no two alike, can be made in any dance style.......Check the happy couple out and let me know what you think.

Oh, BTW, this in NOT for Josiah, he just helped with the link.

Pretty much depends on how they have to be dressed and the amount of work that is going to be required. This one took the better part of two days to make. Probably not going to be Wal-mart cheap, but hopefully reasonable, as they will be custom and hand made for each couple. Got any ideas on how to price something like this?

Awesome job!!!! Perhaps an idea to add if you start selling them would be some sort of case. Like the put the bridal boquets in. That way when they are done with the cake it can be put into the case and displayed.

As far as pricing. We are talking about weddings right. Considering how much weddings are and how it is a momentous occasion.....I'd say $100-$150 would be reasonable, but like EP said it all depends on the amount of work. Start thinking about adding bustles and hand items, you are talking a lot of work, plus the cost of materials...

But it is an awesome idea.....you better put a patten on it! LMAO

I was thinking $100 or so as well just off the top of my head. I also make individual pieces, call them my pow-wow babies, have made all categories, will try to post some pictures of them as well. Have been able to get $35 each for them some places.

Thought about the case thing too. Our nephew is on the lookout for one this weekend (final shopping before big event). Also thought about the patent but don't know how to go about it. Do you know Josiah? Just want to see if he's reading this or not! LOL!

Will keep you in mind Josiah
Just let me know ahead of time.....you know how I hate to be rushed!

Thanks again everyone, glad that you like them!

Luv u too ok24stacey!

yes ... these are real cho! like em alot ....

$100 - $150 sounds reasonable to me for something that could be so personalized to the bride and groom. and the case would be a good idea for display or safe keepin after the wedding.
