Anybody know how to make cradleboards or know of resources to find out how to make one? I saw just a couple of places online, but I'd like to try and make one for my baby. I feel like I'm hunting for a needle in a haystack.

Just in case there are any Cherokees, Chickasaws, and any other southeastern nation members out there trying to locate their style cradleboard, you won't find any. I got a cradleboard pictorial book from the Smithsonian and found out that our people stopped using their cradleboards after the Removal (although some people will say we never had them.) There are some written accounts of us having them, but they are scarce, and there is no archaeological evidence of them. I guess this is what happens when your people are forced to assimilate after almost five hundred years of contact, eh? Sigh!
