Hi there everyone!
I would like to make some cuffs for my 14 year old son to wear with his grass dance outfit, but I'm not sure how to go about it. He wants them to be beaded with fringing. Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks, Lisa. |

If you're using duck canvas, make sure you wash it in hot water first, then dry it to pre-shrink it. I found out the hard way with my very first set of sequins that canvas will shrink and whatever you beaded or sequined will start to curl.
I'll pre-shrink my canvas, then iron it with a heavy spray starch to take all the wrinkles out and give it a little stiffness to draw your lines or designs on. If you're edging the cuffs with bias tape (I used the extra-wide double fold), make sure you figure in 1/2 inch around the edges before you cut out the size and figure your designs. |
