Fancy Dancer AND Jingle?
Osiyo, I have a question...is it possible to be a fancy shawl dancer AND a Jingle dancer like on separate occasions? Also, I've taken an interest in fancy shawl, but I don't know how or where to start on designing my regalia. Any tips?

I dance both fancy shawl and jingle. No one I've met has a problem with it.
Tips for designing your outfit: 1)Put big designs on your shawl, and use long and thin ribbons. 2)Make sure you have room in your skirt to do your foot work. 3)Make your cape in such a way that you can tie it around your waist so you do not need to use a belt. If I think of anything else I'll let you know. |

As for myself... I don't dance either. I know that when I look at so many jingle dancers now they seem to be fancy shawl dancers in a jingle dress. It seems like there is a lot of the old meaning or original intent behind the dress gone. I'm talking about SOME not ALL. A lot of it seems to come down to money, if one catagory doesn't have too many dancers they will dance that one to try to win. Unfortunately money does talk and you have to do what you have to do just to survive now days.
