My 5 yo wants to be a fancy feather dancer

My 5 yo finally says he wants to dance. He's had a grass dance outfit since he was a baby but never wants to put it on. My father in law bought him some fancy bustles 2 years ago but he was too little then. Now he says he wants to wear them.

I've danced fancy shawl all my life but obviously I'm a girl so not the same thing. My brother and my dad danced traditional, my cousins all danced traditional. I don't know anyone who could teach my son how to dance or even to make sure he has a complete outfit. He gets kinda shy when we're actually there and decides he wants to take his dance outfit off.

any suggestions??? i would love to have my little guy out there with me, especially now that my other son, who is 1, is walking and LOVES to go to the pow-wow. he'll be the next one i'm sure.

just keep taking him. have him practice at home whenever you get a chance. go out with him on intertribals. he'll be alright.
