I was guessing that most of the dancers would be coming from the Coushatta. Good deal. Are you from Elton?

yup I live in Elton.
Not too many powwows here though. The most happening thing around here is a small summer program provided by the social services department called Camp Coushatta. It starts at 8am through 12pm Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the next 4 or so weeks. It is like a tour of the Coushatta/native american history with stations demonstrated by the children of our tribe. At the end is a powwow exhibition in which they explain and dance each category. Not too many powwowers here so my honey (who lived on the pw trail before getting stuck with me in the swamps!) has formed a drum group consisting of several young guys and helps the kids with their dancing and outfits. A good job for a former pw roadie I guess!!! Oh, and the tour's free! (I read your other post, I think your from NOs?)
