Hello everyone. A young man has asked me to help him in making a roach for his new fancy rig. However, this is the first one I've done for a fancy dancer, and I'm not sure what the correct length should be.
Talkking to the local dancers, they seem to either prefer a short roach that doesn't go much beyond the base of the neck, or a real long one that reaches to the middle of the neck bustle. Which one do you guy's like? I also worry about the wear and tear on the roach as it comes into contact with the wire uprights on the bustle. Is this a problem? Just the way it goes? or is there some trick to preventing damage? I suspect that a firmly anchored neck bustle will minimize any rubbing and damage. Any help or advise would be welcome.:) |
