Kevin Locke Native Dance Ensemble
Monday November 12

Tickets: $20, $18, $15* / $12 child or student
$5 UNCP Student / $15 Faculty or Staff

Kevin Locke's performances present virtuoso traditional flute and vocal songs, historical and cultural narratives, native sign language, hoop dancing, audience participation, and generous gifts of "Indian" humor. Additional performance components are added when Kevin is accompanied by one or more other traditional artists.

Kevin's programs are generally divided into three sections: Flute and vocal performances interspersed with entertaining, informative and inspirational stories of native culture, as well as interactive native sign language; The Hoop Dance, with introductory and concluding narrative explanations, as well as an onstage, mini-workshop in hoop dancing If time allows, a traditional Friendship Round Dance that brings people together in a
heart-warming celebration of community.

its been several years since i saw Kevin Locke in performance! he is great. i saw him in New Haven when he was part of the New Haven Festival of Arts and Ideas.
