Chaotic Neutrals were always fun to play, but as far as an alignment system goes, nothing beats Rifts. Man they gave realy detailed descriptions of each alignment, along with really good examples. There were more choices than just the nine that TSR allowed.

Well if you want to go there Derek!
Yes Rifts did have the best alignments I've ever seen in an RPG. Chaotic Neutrals are completely insane. Total maniacs. I was always a fan of Anarchist. But you see my friend. Rifts was one of many Palladium titles who carried that alignment system. Perhaps you already knew that though, or perhaps not. From the Rifts core rule book, my fav classes were Juicers, Mind Melters, Bursters. And Borgs were just tough darts man. But my favorite class of all is the Temporal Raider from Rifts England. Or some of the really snazzy Ninja classes from Rifts Japan. I dug Rifts Spirit West big time too. Rifts Spirit West details all the NdN goodies of rifts. I think it was tastefully done and had very respectfully rendered art and I believe Wayne Breaux Jr. and Kevin Siembieda really have a winner with this one! So yeah man I love RPG's! Oh and I also want to tell ya'll bout this one I read about in the pages of Dragon Magazine pre WOTC. It was a game review on a little know game called "Bunnies and Burrows". It was based off Richard Adams's novel Watership Down. This game was originally published in 1976. Loosely based off the novel. You could be a psyker or warrior or like a ranger and a few other classes, a rogue I"m sure. Keep On Roll Playin Ya'll!!!

Yeah dude I loved Rifts Spirit West. I sold all my Rifts stuff no too long ago, and I dont remember too much about the names of the NDN character classes, but yeah you are right. The stuff was very tastefully done. It doesnt seem like they "borrowed" a lot of stuff from our cultures, and kind of invented most of it, but did base some on general legends of our people. Yeah that was cool. Its sorta like making a TV show that takes place in a specific city, that doesnt really exist except in that tv show. Yeah it might go off in Minnesota, but since the city doesnt exist, they dont tick off anyone. Rifts was like that. It was cool. The only thing that kinda bugged me is they called one of the OCCs Shaman. But at least they didnt call one Medicine Man, at least I dont remember one being called that. Derek |

Well what would you have them call the OCC? Hell the Africa book had a shaman too and an African Witch or some such nonsense. I think you're being a little to PC my fine Ojibwe Niji...

A buddy of mine said he used to be an Atlantean Stone Master from Atlantis. He said they were super tough.
I never ran any Atlantean characters myself. I've always been partial to Temporal Raiders or Temporal Wizards and Bursters or Mind Melters.

I have my brothers to thank for getting me into RPG"s. Yes that's right I said RPG's LOL!
I have been playing AD&D for decades. I love it. I love playing very strong Female Warriors and Rouges. To me those are the sexiest of characters, and I do love muh Sorceresses and Priestesses. Especially the Specialist Priestesses of Eelistraeee or how ever you spell it. Drow elves are so bad a$$ and so freakin sexy! What with their total control of the males and the total sexual dominance over their males. They just used the males for consorts. They saw the males as having little or no value period. And the clothes or lack there of that they wore is so damn sexy! God Dang!!!! Of course there was Drizzt and stuff, he was soooo hot! OMG! I am so in love with him! I love 3.5 too, very fun indeed that one! I also love Rifts. That game has it all! Make Mine RPG's And male gamers tend to be far more imaginitive than non male gamers, and of course nothing beats a totally hot female gamer like ME and those I see and take home from the Cons. I love Female gamers too, they have such great imaginations for well lots of heavy role playing... Later Boys Hugs & Kisses

Males and females in the RP world
Boozhoo niji,
This is what I will say about that. Most of the guys I know that were into RP were pretty creative, artistic and such. RPG is the cure for total boredom, and for people of lesser mental metal, it doesnt take much to keep them amused, but for us creative types, an hour in front of the Playstation is an eternity! I have run a few campaigns in my short lifetime, and this is what I have learned about females. The ones that do show up that are not bored out of their skulls, are very very EVIL! I have seen them time and again choose character that were purposefully manipulative. They would literally control the moment. And it didn't matter what you threw at them storywise, they had an answer for everything! It was challenging just to get them confused! I did it once. I had a group of players in a WtA game, and I drew up a story so intertwined with things that it trapped the players one by one, and by the time the thing had run its course, I discoverd that I literally left no holes that anyone could get through. The story was stuck right there, so I had to send in my elder level Wendigo to rescue the lot. Of course I had to sacrafice him in the great escape to justify the story in the process, but such is the role of the storyteller right? It made for a great game too. Ah I long for those days once again, but I have no more time for such things. I have sold almost all of my stuff, save for my WtA stuff. I am even thinking of selling my PS2, because I just dont have the time to play it anymore, and could use the extra cash right now too. Derek |
