Woman Playing Sacagawea not Native in the movie Night at the Museum

This just bothers me ya'll. Can't they find one Native Woman out there to cast? WTF Hollywood? It just irritates me to no end. What with a name like Mizou Peck, she sounded Asian but I did my research anyway.

She's Asian and White.

Lame!!!

I'm not surprised but damnit thats lame. I went on IMDB and checked out some of what people said about her in their forum. Here's what one guy said:

"And why would the native american community complain that she is not native? She actually can pass for a native american when she is tanned like in Night at the Museum. After all it could not be as bad as Pierce Brosnan playing an indian in the movie Grey Owl."

Any thoughts? Words? Or am I over reacting? Don't get me wrong though, I'm not freaking out about it, it just rubs me the wrong way...

Rubs me the wrong way, too; surely they could have found an Indian actress to do the part. But the Hollywood bigwigs probably had a picture in mind and the actress chosen fit the picture and that was the end of the discussion. Authenticity is not their concern. They'd paint me black and have me play Harriet Tubman if they thought I looked right to them otherwise.

It's a LONG standing thing..w/ Hollywierd.....and not that unusual. Doesn't mean it doesn't suck tho!
