the red road??
It is a popular saying amongst natives to say "I walk the red road." Do YOU????.....
In a day when most of us live in square homes, call ourselves the "provider" because we bring home the paycheck, throw trash out the window as you drive from place to place, eaten before an elder has been served. When is the last time you made a simple offering of tobacco? or met the morning sun with a prayer? It is not an easy road to walk... survival has become too easy to purchase at Walmart. To the best of my knowledge, crack coccaine and meth aren't part of ANY ceremony!! Gang participation isn't some sort of modern day warrior society, not when the people who are hurt are your own. Becareful my brothers and sisters that your road isn't becoming increasingly..... pink.

I like your words. They are harsh, but honest. You either do, or you don't. Recently, I have run across this with one of my elder, man friends. He talks the "red road" all the time. HOWEVER, he thinks nothing of his occasional beer and wine consumption, because its social drinking. Many people don't think about these things. I know another man that believes his smoking of Mary Jane is acceptable also. He tries and hides that fact, but for goodness sakes, I know what it smells like on people. People should realize, walking the red road entails alot of work and responsibility. WW

I wanted to provoke thought and express my concern for a loss of "traditional values"... I thank you for hearing them. Have never been one to get "preachy" just try and lead by example, one choses their own paths to walk.
I agree it is a good thread. walk well sister.
