I am starting to make my beaded crown, I read the other message about starting and what nots. I just want to know if it would be alright to have like a beaded fringe on the back side and the sides.....? Has anyone seen this or what is everyones opinion on this?

Dasani, you can definitely have beaded fringe on the back of your crown of any kind of beads that you like. That's quite common in Southern style, like a beaded back piece covering the elastic and then fire polish beads (6 or 8mm glass facetted beads) or other pretty shiny hanging beads.
I've never seen it on the sides though. Do you mean kinda like what grass dancers have on their headbands? Never seen it, but if you don't mind being groundbreaking, you can do your own style. Do you really want to cover your pretty face? (Sounds like my Mother or Aunties) |

Hello!
This is Dasani22 as well. I have a name for home and a name for work. I am at work for right now. I have decided to put the fringe in the back, because yes, you were right, would hide my pretty face and that is not what I want to do. :) What I want to do is snag some cute guy right? :D :D What is the best way to fasten the crown? Leather ties in the back or the elastic bands? Thank you so much for your in put MissT.

Hi..me again. I wouldn't use leather ties...they might show and it would really be a bummer if they got loose!!! Use elastic and then cover it with a piece of beadwork. Just my opinion.

My crown has elastic on the back, and I cover it up with a barette I beaded and a hawk plume. It works really well too, except when it gets stretched out....lol. well, g2g! Dohiya!

I just used a great big snap in the back for my daughter's...I used elastic for mine, but it meets up so most can't see it, besides my plume is fluffy enough that it kinda covers over the elastic, but I think I want to make a barrette to cover it now...starting to feel a bit self concient about it!! LOL!!
