Cool Fans

Here's one for everybody - What kind of fan do you carry? Hawk, Eagle(golden or bald) Macaw,......
I've got a hawk fan that my exmother -in-law had painted, which she gave to me.
Then i've also seen some peopel carry their fans in their left hand

I have a mature golden eagle feather fan...it only has four feathers in it but the feathers are quite large. I am expecting my immature feathers anytime now so I can make a really nice larger fan and then the mature one will be beaded and passed down to my daughter as she gets older and does more dancing.

:Cooler now that's another thing I think is so cool about all this, also when we have children of our own we can pass to them our stuff, if their interested. It's taken a few years but my youngest son is now goiong back to grass dancing. Only thing is though his dad was fancy dancer, and I don't think he wants any of my dresses, so I can't pass to much down to him.

eagle_clan1017 is an unknown quantity at this point
I carry a mature golden eagle fan...It's got 7 feathers in it, the handle's beaded and there is some pretty nice feather work on it too. I use an all red macaw fan every now and then too. Then I am supposed to be getting a red and blue macaw fan too, but the feathers are still in the package!!! but someday.......:)

I carry a bald eagle tail fan - all white feathers, and it is made of all 12 of them. With a beaded handle, and florette featherwork up the feather stems.

My fan was given to me. There was a lady from Cherokee, NC who came and taught a class at the Carolina Indian Seminar. I was one of her students in that class. That night, just before the pow wow she handed me a gift bundle. It was a fan. I cried, this was the first time anyone outside of my closest friends and family had ever given me anything. I will always treasure that fan. :Angel2
