opersonally i would never wear a fake plume but i have never in my life been given a eagle feather or plume for that matter. i seen some cloth dancers not wearing any so since i prefer not to wear anything fake my question is , is it okay for cloth dancers to go without wearing any plumes?

I have seen cloth dancers with and with out. I have seen some with plumes and tail feathers. I have seen some with crowns and without and those crown with plumes, tail feathers and without....

The Osage women I have seen dancing cloth, in traditional Osage clothes, didn't have any feathers. Just some damn fine ribbon work....

jus go with what ya have ..... if ya have nothing to put on ... it shouldnt stop you from dancing ... look at is this way ... one less thing to worry about LOL

thanks for makeing my laugh at that one i needed it fo rthe day considering i have in service work for my teaching to do and i dont wanna go. (this statement is for the one who make a statment aobu tnekkid hahah)

i seen osages with wearing plumes but they were just competing and didnt wear traditional osage outfits. which i found okay but thats why i asked this question. its gonna
take me while to get my outfit together as is. all that beadwork to do. im going to walmart to see if i can find a silk blouse or jcpennys. ( this one statement is for the first and seocnd person who replied)

yay i knwo whatcha mean about the ribbonwork. yay we are known for silk shirts and ribbonwork. my ma always said what defines a osage women to be beatuful is our long hair, silk shirts and lots and lots of ribbonwork.

Wow, you need to consult with your own tribal people. You get ideas from the internet, etc could get you in a lot of trouble. Lots of weird people with weird ideas. This is true. Just don't go by everything people tell you. What if you are baldheaded and want to wear plumes, then what do you do? Let's see what kinds of answers you get.

ahh if i was badlheaded i would wear a bandana i just wouldnt wear plumes no way to hold up a barreete if you got no hair to put in in the first place. ya i could probably get funky answeres becasue dont know anyone on here really. i would normally ask my ma but shes getting senial and looseing alot of memoery she barely recognizes us as is. it sbad. but im so far away frm my tribe to begin with because of job and fmaily being here.
