lookin through crazycrow magazine..theres the 3 band broad cloth and the rainbow selvedge broadcltoh ...what the difference ?

Three band, as the name suggests, has three bands of differing colors on the selvedge. "Rainbow" has 5-7 narrower bands of different colors. Saved list has a kind of zig-zag white band that replicates the pattern made by the early methods of dying mass-produced cloth. In my experience there is also a slight difference in weight between the different kinds.

yeah the three band is kind of like the Wal-Mart broad cloth and the 5 band or rainbow is like the Macy's broadcloth...if you want to look at it that way. Plus the 5 band is smoother too. But either way, they are both freakin hot when you wear them outside in the summer in 100 degree weather!!! *L*

The difference is the way the selvedge is finished. The three band is just that, three wide (about 1" bands of color), the rainbow selvedge is not quite as smooth (seems fuzzy and raised) and looks painted on. There are other bandings as well, 7 band, 4 way. Depends on the look you are going for and your finances.........
