I was dressed Osage two years ago. The family that dressed me told me that I could wear wool leggins (with ribbonwork to match my skirt) or not. I have seen some women in leather leggings, but not fully beaded. I would stick with what you mother is telling you if you are wanting to dress traditional osage.
If you are allergic to wool, just add a cotton lining and I believe that you will be fine. |

I love the look of a large silver brooch at the neck. That's another option in addition to your medallion necklace.
Will you have ribbonwork on your skirt? Yep, lining your wool with cotton in the same shade should do the trick. |

i asked my ma to help me out with the leggings and told her about the cotton lining she was wondering about the same question i asked too. i basically start breakin out in rash with wool. not a pretty sight*l* still searching for cheaper priced broadcloth thatn what i have been seeing lately.
thats a good alternative the brooch with a ncie scarf if it looks good with my type of blouse im gonna get. |

The big silver brooch (or brooches, as in 2 or 3) is/are pinned to the blouse at the neck opening. I think I have also seen Osage ladies wear a choker-style necklace made up of many strands of big black cut beads.
