Southern Cloth-am I missing anything?
I made a list of everything I will need am I leaving anything out?
1.southern breast plate (my soon to be husband is making one for me) 2.broadcloth 3.shawl (tafetta for ribbon work on shawl and on skirt part) 4.pattern 5.shirt 6.ermine (my aunte told me we use a ermine tail in the back part along with the breast plate) 7.purse(fully quilled) 8.hairties, barrettes, earrings, choker, (all fully quilled) 9.flat fan( threadwork on it with fully quilled handle) 10.boots (partially quilled) I do more quill work than anything it relaxes me. with shirt what material to make it out of? I've seen some girls wear silk and some wear cotton/poly. |

if its the middle of summer in the hot afternoon. cotton is nice and cool. but if you're trying to dress to impress, saturday night... any kind of flashy material is cool. Not sequined but a bridal material looks good. Those oriental brocades are pretty... its up to you.
FYI. Instead of ribbonwork, you could also do that floral embroidery on your skirt and shawl. Take it to an embroidery place. |

At first I though about having it as blackfoot and Osage because that's who I am I would be concerned leaving one of them out in my regailia. So being that I'm from 2 different tribes do I have to pick and choose in my regailia?
I was thinking about this yesterday night maybe I should attend some powwows in OK. to see about certain things to be added and to ask questions about bowing (when to bow) stuff like that. |

Hi, Osage_jingle.
I too am learning how to dance Cloth, Southern Cloth that is. I Use to dance jingle when I was younger. I've been watching video's from GON and studing their dance moves. I'm concentrating too hard, and keep messing up on when to bow, and I keep over stepping.
