I've been getting little tid bit helps from my aunte and other family members , I was told we wear boots with southern cloth not leggings and mocs. If this is right, the last time I wore boots my boots never stayed up one on one leg would always fall any tips on keeping them to stay up?

making hightops boots out of

I need some help here, I know I'm probably asking too many questions here but what's the best to make hightop boots out of? I will be doing quillwork on them as well.

you could get an elastic piece sewed together and snug enough for your leg to hold up your legging.

I've seen osages wear just mocs without leggings.

In this pic, the dancer 3rd from the right is osage.

If you're just dressing as a competitive pow-wower, the options are wide open. A lot of people wear fully beaded two piece, or kiowa/comanche style one piece beaded only on edges.

I've always heard from Osage ladies. That a properly dressed Osage woman, nearly always has on her fold down, Osage styled mocs, with cloth leggings over them. OR, will wear a boot type, atypical southern plains styled moc, Kiowa or Comanche variety.

I don't think the Osage have worn mocs with any sort of quillwork for at least a hundred years or more....least ways, I've never seen any modern Osage mocs with quillwork.

Most are the type with the single slit down the center, with the edges beaded and folded down over the side like the young lady in the photo Super attached to her post.
