What adornment for women with short hair?

How do women with short hair adorn it when they dance? Seems to me, barettes would fall out. I know short hair is rare, but some women do prefer it.

I've seen women use combs and a feather that hangs down. I've also seen beaded barettes. I'm sure its up to you a nd what you feel comfortable with. If its short and spiky, I don't think it needs any type of hair adornment.

A headband or a crown could work.

I think a crown looks crazy on short hair. You have all your hair all poofing out below it.

but to each their own, right?

Well, that's the problem, I guess. What does look good with short hair? Barettes fall out, too, with nothing to hang onto.

I had a very short haircut, like a pixie cut with bangs, when I was 14. I wore a headband and attached my plumes into the headband and then bobby pinned it too.

for short hair, cause mines right above my shoulder, is it ok to french braid it?

I was excited the other day because I could figure out I could finally pull my hair back into a pony tail and into small braids, but they don't look so fantastic. So had someoen french braid them and they look nice, but I don't know if it's ok to dance it. is it?

A friend of mine had short hair for awhile and she used to somehow magically attach long hairt ties to it. If you didn't know she had short hair it looked just like she still had long hair. It was cool.

You know, I heard some Crow guys used to do this at Crow Fair. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

A lot of Crow guys - maybe some women too - used to wear wigs as part of their Crow traditional outfits.

Yeah of course its fine! Its up to you really. When my hair was growing out, I did what it sounds like you did and would french braid my hair and have like 1 inch little stubs at the end. LOL Then I'd attach my hair ribbons and then my hairties and it looked like I had long hair. No one could really tell. That's probably what your friend did, amarie. You could also do it with otter or whatever you put underneath your hair ties. I've even seen a girl attach yard "braids" to her short hair to make it longer and then wrap it with bias tape so no one can tell!

looks like I'll have to find new hair ties and such. I gave a friend of mine my old ones from when I had hair down to my mid back. I'll need to find something to use before this weekend or go out with out them.

thanks for the help. <3
