southern breastplate

okay here's a question for the group i haven't seen yet. what do you have on the ends of your breastplate and why........ie coins, shells????

my daughter wears my breastplate that i have had for 30 years...:) I was given buffalohead nickels at a giveaway when i was younger.. I tied them across the bottom of my breastplate, and when we dance it clinks on our belt.. :) makes a nice sound... and always reminds me of the nice gift i received..:)

my mom has shells, but i've seen buffalo head nickels, indian head pennies, the new dollar coins, cowrie shells, hawk bells, clam shells, and small conch shells

So how do you hang the coins from the breast plate? How do you get the holes in them?
I've always wondered that..

i would think a small drill bit would do the trick..:)

excellent ideas in regards to what to put on the ends of the breast plate. was also wondering what kind/size of beads do you use?

firepolish? size 6? size 8?

I would think it would be a look and see kinda thing.. if you dont like the way one size looks try another..:) i prefer the 8's I think they look nicer ..:)

My breastplate has shells. I want to make one myself though. To see what kind of awesome creation (or madness) could come from my hands. *L*

I like my colors though, I used primary and it goes great with my outfits.

I have cowrie shells but have seen some good ones with faux silver or gold coins on the ends.
