PGA Golf In Trouble for Killing Hawk with Shot

Pro golfer Tripp Isenhour apologizes for killing hawk, Humane Society to contact PGA - Golf - Yahoo! Sports

When i first hear about this I was like #1 that must been one hell of an unlucky shot and #2 here goes the PETA and Humane Society trying to stir up pooh over nothing.

Then I read the article. I hope they lock his @zz up and throw away the key!!!!!

Yeah, I agree with you eyes! Miika didn't know it made the early morning news. She told me this morning "Don't read my blog today, it'll just make you mad."

Of course I had to....
A Failure To Communicate | Moonwolf`s Lair

The incident doesn't make me angry tho - just kind of had me feeling sad that a human can be that shriveled up and mean inside.

And I agree that it's not "pooh over nothing" given the indepth article in CNN which notes (http://www.golf.com/golf/tours_news/...36-2,00.html):

Quote:
Jethro Senger, a sound engineer at the shoot, said hitting the bird was ``basically like a joke to (Isenhour).''

``He just kept saying how he didn't think he could have hit it, which I think is a stupid thing for a PGA Tour golfer to say,'' Senger said. ``He can put a ball in a hole from hundreds of yards away, and here he is hitting line drives at something that's, I don't know, a couple hundred feet away?''

Senger said no one in the roughly 15-person crew intervened, and many later regretted it.
After all, it wasn't an accidental shot. It was intentional.

I figure the hawk was probably just used to using golfers as a way to find food. Ball falls out of the sky - mouse, chipmunk, whatever gets startled and runs - hawk gets a quick snack. The hawks out where I work use the lawn service guys the same way.

At least someone was respectful enough to bury the hawk (even though investigators dug it up), instead of leaving it lay or throwing it in the trash!
