I'd be p***ed too Mud_Woman!
Growing up we kept (pellet) guns for wayward dogs who wanted to add our land to their territory or harrassed our animals. Never took more than 1 or 2 shots in the a** for them to learn. ![]() Neling4 - I'm glad Ginger is feeling better! |

If they attack once they will attack again. You know I haev a Pitt Mudwoman, and I love him and the breed. Tho i also know how the breed can be if raised improperly and if they are fighting they will not stop.
Once knew a pitt that would chase people down trying to attack them, hitting it in head with bricks did not even phase it. Realistically since i have known animal control officers, I would recommend reporting the dogs and letting them deal with it. If they have been reported before chances are they will get euthanized. Taking matters in your own hands is an idea also, but leaves more room for retaliation from the other party. People get funny about their pets, and i wouldnt want anyone messin with you or yours.

Thanks RDNKJ!
![]() I took her for another, longer walk yesterday. She seems to have recovered nicely. She gets her stitches removed some time in July. I'm glad we could afford the surgery. She is an old dog, and much loved. We are not ready to give her up yet. |

I didn't realize there had been a history of aggression with these dogs. If animal control can't be counted on, then it is time for these dogs to somehow "disappear."

Good Morning everyone...
This past weekend I lost my best friend...Gus Gus was killed on Saturaday afternoon by a larger dog that didn't think he was where he was supposed to be...I will miss him so much...now I have to adjust to the fact that I'm actually alone in my apartment for the first time ever...so far it's not going that good...but at least LBW is there for me to talk and just keep me company... Good Bye Gus Gus...2/10/2006 -- 6/27/2009

I am so, so sorry. I could tell from the pics on your profile and the way you talked about Gus Gus that you loved him dearly. I know he will be sorely missed. You and Gus Gus will be in my prayers tonight. rdnkj |

Thanks you guys for the comments and prayers...yes i did love Gus Gus dearly, and i will miss his company and crazy attitude, but on the bright side (if there really is one) my work is picking up and i've been putting in long hours and he has been kind of left alone a lot...i knew that he was feeling left out and just "in the way"...but i will miss him every time i want to vent on someone who can only listen and has no voiced opinions...lol.

i am sorry about your Gus Gus. he looked like he was the migjhty defender of the couch (and his pack).
a few years ago, we had gotten a husky from the local pound and they didn't know if she was fixed or not. so we had to wait - NOT FOR LONG!!! so we had to wait for her heat to be over to get her fixed. in the meantime, we had to get the local "boys" from having any fun, brother broke out his bee bee and shot at the local dogs who wanted their way with our husky. after that was all done, the next great sport was bee bee gunning the local squirrel population! never knew a squirrel jump 7 feet up into the air when shot in the butt! |

well, i have been without a dog since i got back from my trip at the end of june. while visiting my daughter i helped take care of her little female chihuahua UNKEY (prounounce like monkey without the M).
what a character. both the dog and my daughter. *laughing* i have to say, i miss both of them! so, i have been thinking about getting a new companion dog. now i really enjoyed having a lap dog like UNKEY. but on the other hand, i would feel much safer out here in the "boonies" if i had a large dog for extra security. and a large dog would be able to take care of himself in most cases with wild critters. then again, a little dog is easier to keep indoors, especially when the snow comes. however i could never just leave a little dog outside for any length of time by itself for fear of it being 'dinner' for something. and of course the cold would get to it. but its easier to keep a little fella clean and cheaper to feed. but a large dog bark keeps strangers and critters at bay.... i sure miss having a dog companion. only males you can trust to love you unconditionally. *laughing* |
