I have seen this movie about 8 times. It has some pretty tough parts to watch in it like Graham Greene's character slowly killing himself with alcohol, but then there some funny parts in it too and just the relationship between the brothers is very touching. There's also some footage that was actually taken from a news cast about Pine Ridge. It's just great to see ndn movies where they are in something other than loin cloths in some historical film where things are so romanticized.

Chris Erye is just great!

Oh- and I forgot. One of the questions posed by the movie stems from Eric Schweig's character (Rudy Yellowlodge) who makes a statement by throwing red paint on George Washington's face on the Mount Rushmore sculpture;
is it possible to desecrate a desecration?

Mt. Rushmore is carved into the Black Hills. The Black Hills were sacred. So to carve them up like that can be viewed as a desecration.
