Question Burial?

As I was reading the organ donor thread, I got to thinking...
This may also be a touchy subject for some but I am curious as to whether or not cremation is acceptable. What do you believe in... Burial or cremation?

i think i want to be cremated - it is just your body..not your spirit/soul. besides it's way more cheaper...dang funerals with burials can run up towards 10 000 - 15 000!!

then you run into ppl who'll say well when you see the creator he wants you to be "whole" (then you run into that whole organ donor thang - that's for another thread) when you "meet" him. then what happens to all the ppl who burned to death in fires?!? long ago they didn't have caskets either ...

I am going to be cremated too. When my father died his 3rd wife wanted to bury him and he had cancer, so he was not in complete control of his thoughts when he passed away. But before he got to bad off he made me promise not to let her bury him and to make sure that he was cremated. My mother also wants to be cremated. I know this may seem like a grave (excuse the pun,) topic but I was really curious to know if some tribes believed in burial only or cremation. Thank you for the input so far.

Good question

Most people dont think of stuff like this tiil its too late.

when my Mom left mother earth, I had to buy her a plot -- they come in twos so I said "what they hey -- might as well take the other half of it. After all-- I did pay for it.
Now my buryal plot is right across the street frommy home.

I have a cronic neurological desese so when the time comes I want to donate any orgins that are still usefull. ( if I havent destroyed them yet ) and then donate my brain to help find a cure.

I have realized that the physical shell that the Great Spirit gives us to live in this world is just that--- A SHELL. What realy counts is what we do with that life we are given ---- not what we do with the vessle when the spirit has moved on.

I still want to be creamated---- But have my ashes burried withmy mom.

It was traditional to be cremated outside in my tribe; until the christians got ahold of my people and brain-washed them. I will be cremated like my ancestors long ago, too bad they won't let my family do it the old fashioned way though!

cremation for me.. I don't want someone digging me up later, or having to live somewhere else because my useless body is occupying space underground.

Death is a part of life and so is losing people you care about so why is it crazy to talk about it. I think it's crazy to pretend it doesn't exist. I know you put JOKES... lol...
