I guess that I'll be the only one to say anything about this. If I piss people off, so what deal with it.

Granted they had alot of news coverage on and over the popes death and life. Understandably there should have been reflection on his life and his accomplishments. He was the highest living official of one of the biggest church denominations of the world. Last that I heard there are over 1 billion catholics in the world give or take. And the denomination has been around for what 2 thousand years? They have their traditions just as each of our nations do. They do things their way and we do ours in the way our ceremonies and traditions, just as we have for thousands of years.
1. The clothing that he was layed to rest in evidently is traditional to the church or what he wanted to be layed in. His and their perogative as to how they go about doing his burial.
2. The man is dead(.) There is no need to talk smack about his feet, or his clothing. Or anything else that I or you may have found weird or not able to comprehend.
I can understand the **** the church has put our people through, and others as well. I know that the pope had come out and openly appologized for what the church had done to our people, now wether or not it was legit and meaningful, we'll never know. But it was done. We have to first remember that the pope was a "man". No different then you or I. He was birthed, ate, drank, breathed and bleed the same as everyone else. And as many of us are taught, we are to respect everything in life. I would think that many of us would be pissed off big time, if people were to go around talking **** about our loved ones after they have passed. And if I remember correctly, some nations dont' even mention a person after death. I just find this lack of respect for a human being ignorant as hell, no matter who they are. As most of us know, what goes around comes around.

As many times as we have disagreed Jammy....... I have to agree here. Don't like the church, don't like what they do and the way they do it. There are too many recovering catholics that would agree to that one also. But don't disrespect the dead. Just not cool.

I wasnt meaning to be disrepsectful,but i came off that way..I appologize.
what I meant was that it was something i had never seen before.. it was different.. and becasue I didnt really undestand it... it gave me the creeps. The way in which they conducted his funeral/ mourning ceremony was very different.

The MAN himself was one to be admired and deserves to be thought of as a good person.His Humanitarian efforts/ contributions throughout the world were great deeds of work.
The world was changed by this man, he gave alot of people hope.

No disrespect to all the catholics or used-2b-catholics on here; but I'm glad the coverage is over as well, I agree with 50calndn. My husbands family are all catholics, so I know all about this religion. For personal reasons; I'm non-christian, and I really have a major problem with this religion, in particular. I'm sorry you have lost a symbol of your church and a man who represented your church so well, but I was starting to think CNN had changed it's name to PNN(POPE-Network-News).

There are so many death around us, sorry that the POPE died, MAY HE REST IN PEACE NOW. Hope I said that loud and clear, may he rest in peace instead of a display for millions. I wouldn't want people taking pictures of me, even if I was the highest Catholic official. My opinion, mine only, I am not Christian and don't affiliate myself with any church, but I respect the higher being. No one knows if there is a God, (have anyone seen him???) I don't think so. So my aspect is, this is a freedom of speech country and we can say anything we want. DAMN, me and 50 didn't serve our country for nothing. If anyone is offended, oh well. I just don't like people making an enormous deal about death. If your time comes, it comes, but when you turn on your television set on and see death and funerals on, it gets aggravating (We've seen death enough on the Highway to Hell, IRAQ). Aggravating like Jehovah's Witness at my door constantly. I'm about to put a sign at my door with "no soliciting and preaching". LOL!! JUST MY OPINION.
