Native Books
I don't know if anyone has ever touched on the subject of Native Books here or not. But who all out there loves to read? I have been looking for some good Native related books out there. Just got done reading a book called The Dullknives of Pineridge. Thats a must read book, atleast I think so. So, let me know of some good Native books here and any that you recommend. Thanks!

Two Old Women; by Fort Yukon resident Velma Wallis. It's a very good read, especially if enjoy traditional type stories. She wrote this after hearing this story growing up. Although the author; Velma now lives in Fairbanks, I find her to be very gracious and down to earth. She has written a couple other books too, but this is my favorite of all of them.

I like Sherman Alexie books also...he's so creative.
On the serious side my fav book right now is The Lakota Way. I just started reading Crazy Horse (and The Real Reason for the Battle of the Little Big Horn) by Dr. A. Ross. |

Its been a few days since I have been to powwows.com and checked out the forum here, seems like all I ever do is sleep and work anymore .
There has been alot of good books mentioned and I'll have to check them out. I have read that one Lame Deer a seeker of Visions and it was a good book. I don't know if any of you all out there are into religion or not, but my mom had a good book about 5 years ago called He Walked the Americas - or something like that, its about some accounts of Christ when He walked among the Native Americans here in the USA. I'm like you Rose, I LOVE biographies too. But thanks to everyone out there that posted here. I sure do appreciate all the commits!
