Opening ceremonies of the Super Bowl

As I watched and was feeling a sense of pride, the 'Greatest Generation,' the veterans from WW II were honored. I was proud to see those honored. Then I waited as the various groups were named & took their places of honor. I held my breath as I waited but no Comanche Code Talkers were mentioned. No Navajo Code Talkers were mentioned. The Code talkers were such a MAJOR, MAJOR role in winning the war. It hurts me that they never received recognition. Only recently has that been done but not in any way proportional to their service. Most still don't even know about the Code Talkers. And, tonight at this pivotal time of honor they nor any Native groups were mentioned. I was shocked, but not surprised... but still it broke my heart.

Why, everybody knows we don't matter in the scheme of things. No point getting upset or we'd be crying all of the time. Just glad that there has been some recognition for our people in the last few years.

Yes, my son and I both noticed that, and I was disappointed. I figure they were probably asked, but turned the NFL down because of the type of event it was and the fact is the Code Talkers are elderly, and do need alot of financial help when they travel around the country. I think they could have at least mentioned them, you think?

Yes WocusWoman a word would have been nice... but I don't feel in my heart they were asked. No more elderly than other vets honored from ww2... Oh well, just wanted to pick some brains... not looking for any drama, only dialogue.

I must admit that I did get choked up when I saw the opening ceremony. With me being a Desert Storm Vet, I really felt a sense of pride and honor. I, also, felt very proud of all the military still serving today.
