We host a "Kids Party" at my house for all my little nephews and nieces.
Their parents can drop them off and go do what they want, but most usually stay around and "party" with the kids. We set up a table with food, play games, karaoke and at midnight we set off fireworks (then hide and laugh when the cops come to investigate). The kids get party hats and noise makers and plastic champagne glasses for a cider toast. It's a good time. New Years is such an adult holiday what's a three year old to do? |

New Years Eve is low key for me, I spend it with my family, watch the ball drop somewhere and maybe have some Champagne and OJ.
New Years Day, I like to watch the Rose Bowl Parade, since I use to be a florist in my previous life (before kids)and see all the cool things they do with flowers and natural textures. Oh! Being from the dirty south, I have to cook, greens and black eyed peas with ham hocks and cornbread on New Years Day! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Last edited by ~Journey~; 12-22-2004 at 04:43 PM. |

I think i will spend time with my horse. I can't ride him cuzz he is lame from a possible abscess so I will visit with him, nurse him and party with the people who keep him 4 me. Drink champagne and eat.....

I'm gonna sleep in from work, then go pop some fireworks, go back to sleep, wake up, get ready, and go to grandma's house to possibly play bingo. Yeah, that sums it up.

Resa you'll have blast with your younger relatives.
![]() We started doing this after my son was born 3 years ago. I always went out for New Years and was feeling depressed about staying home for the evening. I told my family if they wanted a babysitter I'd take care of the kids (I have a huge family we had close to 15 kids not including adults at my house) We made the best of the situation and set up a kid’s party. My house is the place to be New Years, Shoot we have kids I've never met show up. We set up tournaments for the kids to enter and we try to do stuff for all the age groups 3-16 years old. The little guys like to sing or make stuff and the older guys (parents included) play foosball and PS2 for high score. The first year we talked my brother into playing twister with the younger guys, it was nuts. He came in 2nd, my one niece is real flexible. |
