Be nice to telemarketers...really

I seen this on the news tonite and was pretty shocked...and will never ever hang up on another telemarketer again...

TELEMARKETER SENDS THREATENING LETTER TO WOMAN

Jill Beyer, of Waterford Township, said she received the letter about one week after she refused to donate money in a recent call from a telemarketer.

"He wanted a donation for the veterans' association, which the veterans don't get that much of that money. That's why I wouldn't donate to him," Beyer said.

Beyer said the man refused to take no for an answer so she hung up the phone.

"I slammed the phone very hard," Beyer said.

The letter arrived postmarked from El Paso, Texas. The first line read, "Before you are rude to another telemarketer, you should keep in mind that he or she has your phone number and your address."

"It makes me nervous. Obviously he's not playing with a full deck and even my kids are nervous," Beyer said.

El Paso police are reportedly taking the threat seriously and are searching for the person who sent the letter.

The letter is as follows..

Jill Beyer,

Before you are rude to another telemarketer, you should keep in mind that he or she has your phone number and your address.

Many of them live in your own state and most don't give a sh*t!

So, Ms. Beyer, the next time a telemarketer calls and you don't want to be bothered, a simple "not interested" will do.

Your son or daughter or next-door neighbor's daughter could very well be a telemarketer. A handicapped, wheelchair-bound person could be a telemarketer. A biker or ex-con is more likely to be a telemarketer. You really, really shouldn't f*ck with them!

As they say in the telemarketing industry, "Have a good day Ms. Beyer!"

I always say "not interested thanks anyway"...but they dont give up...even with a baby cryin, kids yelling, stereo blaring and the dog barking..LOL:D:Dthats when i bang down the phone.

You should have shot back that as soon as you hung up you dialed *69 and got his number and found out his address. Turn the heat up, say you are an angry Indian for having been treated with so much racisim and are tired of once again being threatened. Talking to me like that when I have nothing left to lose, my husband/wife just left me and I lost my dumb, go nowhere job. I will meet you at your house, give him the address and then phone some big Indian you know and tell him that his wife or girlfriend is messing around on him and that she just went over to the guy's address. Give him the number and see what happens.

no matter how many times u tell them ur not interested, or to take ur name off their calling list, they still call back! :Chatter they're trained to not let go so easily. I used to be in the telemarketing biz ... I dont like trynna sell people stuff they dont want, so I was pretty bad at getting the incentives on the job, haha!

freaky letter! call the cops! :p

My nerves are allready frazzled and don't need anymore bs from these people. Yeah, in the past I tried to be nice but noooo that don't work.. So when I answer the phone with "hello" and I hear them start.. I don't say nuttin I just slam the phone down.. I got sumthin waiting for anyone who sends me a letter..:5: :5:..

i have to admit i was one of those annoying people when i was 17, selling chatalien and miss chatalien and macleans magazines.(boring canadian mags).. i lasted a week. this one guy says "what kinda of magazines? no, but if you're selling playboy ill buy a subscription"... and this one person swore at me and hung up and i called him right back and did the same... and my boss listened in on some calls and wrote a note while i was talking saying i was talking too fast but i got the sale anywayz... its not a great job but at least theyre working but then again you dont need a crim check i guess, so there could be some crazies out there... or is this one of those bogus emails?

I work with these kind of guys who get obssessed with people and as a result I read this stuff lots. I deal with extremely scary people on a daily basis. The bottom part is part of a joke that I heard though. If I can dig it up I will post in the jokes section.

Yeah you have to have some pretty rough skin to be a telemarketer... i doubt id ever be able to do it..

Yeah I heard about this today, it was all on the local radio station and the lady was on to cause she is from here. Yeah the are pesty we are on the Do Not Call list and you have to tell them please do not call again or I will report you only if there determined other than that I just say please take us off your list. But mostly we look at our caller I.D box if we even bother to answer the phone.

You can still register to the Do Not Call National list it is www.donotcall.gov
