Ghosts haunting Ebay
Grandpa's 'ghost' for sale on EBay
HOBART, Ind. (AP) -- A woman's effort to assuage her six-year-old son's fears of his grandfather's ghost by selling it on EBay has drawn more than 34 bids with a top offer of $78 US. Mary Anderson said she placed her father's "ghost" on the online auction site after her son, Collin, said he was afraid the ghost would return someday. Anderson said Collin has avoided going anywhere in the house alone since his grandfather died last year. In a description titled "This isn't a joke," Anderson told Collin's story on EBay: "I always thought it was just normal kid fears until a few months ago he told me why he was so scared. He told me 'Grandpa died here, and he was mean. His ghost is still around here!' " Lest the boy's fears scare off potential bidders, Anderson added, "My dad was the sweetest most caring man you'd ever meet." Some of the prospective buyers have posted their own messages. "Your story brought tears to my eyes," one bidder said. "I just wonder how this will turn out for your son. I'm sure his grandfather loved him very much." Anderson also put her father's metal walking cane up for auction so she would have something to actually send the winning bidder. The proceeds from the auction will go to buy Collin a special present, she said. Anderson makes one special request of the winning bidder: "I would like to ask you to write a letter after you've received the cane (and the ghost) to my son letting him know that he's there with you and you're getting along great." The bidding is due to close Monday afternoon. |

more than 5,000 for grandpa's ghost...
Well, this interesting story was on the Today show this am..Ann Curry interviewed the parents via satalite and the price is reportedly already up to over 5,000 dollars!!! So, has rapidly gone up over the weekend...they said they weren't sure what they were going to do with all the moolah yet....couldn't believe it was a "legit" thing...I guess people will buy just about anything...

See eligibility. Description (revised) Haunted Indian Artifact! This is what my wife tells me because she has never seen any "freaky"(as she calls it) things like this happen until I brought this piece home. She says she has seen the ghost of an indian(that looks really mad she says) come running across the room after her 3 different times and it disappears before it reaches her.(Of course this has only happened when I am asleep and she is on the way to the bathroom or something, I get woke up by a frantic wife cussing and screaming). She is also always claiming to me of seeing floating balls of light that only she see's in the room the artifact is in. She will not dust the shelf that the artifact sits on or even go near it for that matter. She set up a fish tank next to the shelf the artifact sits on and the next day every fish in the tank was dead and of course it was my artifact that did it she says. She collects these dolphin figures and 5 different ones have broken that just happen to be on shelfs that are on the same wall my artifact is on. She adopted a dog for us from the humane society and when the dog got near the wall it would act like someone yelled at it and run out of living room, two days later the dog just ran away and never came back, again my artifact got the blame for this. This is an extremely Rare Notched Cahokia Mounds Hoe. 6" x 5" It is a nice size piece for the type. This notched hoe was found many years ago during the construction of the old Post Office building in O'Fallon, Illinois. It was reported to have been found in a cache with at least one other notched hoe and other artifacts. This example is made of Mill Creek chert. I am not sure if this was some kind of gift for a passing of an important indian of that area but someone told me the mineral deposits on the piece shows its a good possibility. My wife says she can deal with the floating lights and occasional unexplained breaking of a figurine but she will be damned if she is going to be chased by some psycho indian(as she puts it) across the room because I have something that is his. She says either the indian artifact goes or she does. Well authentic rare artifacts like this are just to darn hard to find So up for auction is ONE CRABBY WIFE! You pay for all shipping I will throw in the bubble wrap for free. NO RETURNS!!!! Ole Lady sold AS-IS! I have included pictures of the artifact that scares her so bad. I guess if she doesn't sell I may have to sell the artifact so please bid high!! I have to eat this winter. If you would prefer the artifact over my crabby wife like I said " Please bid high I have to eat this winter" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On Dec-07-04 at 10:30:57 PST, seller added the following information: The artifact will be $10 Shipping to anywhere in the U.S. It will pass any authenticator. 14 day return privilege if you would like to have checked for authenticity.
