I know this sounds weird, but since my kids are growing up, I'm kinda looking forward to being a grandma. My oldest is only 16, so it will be a while. He hasn't even had his first girlfriend. LOL (NO! I have not told him this. All I tell him is he has to wait until he graduates from College before he gets serious with someone)

a nephew who's a few years older than me, his wife had a baby when I was still in HS so in the Navajo way, I was already a "Naalii" (paternal grandmother) at 17!

He's got 3 kids now, that's too many grandbabies to have when ur only 24, haha.

My sister's two oldest kids have had their own child and I thought I was a grand uncle. sounds cooler. My oldest is 18, graduated from school this past June and is taking a year off of school to work. Hope won't become a grandparent for a few more years. Guy I grew up with became a grandfather by the time he was 34, guess everybody knows he grew up on a rez, eh or is that ayyyyy.

Being a great auntie is a wonderful thing I was one at 25 hehe and now have umm holy cow i dunt even remeber i have to start using my fingers to count them all... LOL..Its great i spoil them all.. hehe

Don't feel bad about being a grandmother....my oldest is 18 and his girlfriend is 5 an a half months preg.I am 36 so I guess I better get used to it!Besides...when the baby starts to act up...I can say.."Here your baby wants you take the baby and go home now...I love you son!"lol...I really am excited and congrats..to new great grandmas and grandmas!

Congrats ndnkidz! I only have one nephew and so far (knock on wood) he hasn't fathered any kids that I am aware of. His mother - my sister - would kill him!

I am a grandmother though. Am 47, have three biological grandbabies and 17 step grandchildren. Looking at a total of 20 all together. Was a grandma the first time at 36...it's cool to be a grandma!

My nieces and nephews have had children for quite a while now and all of their kids call me and all of my brothers and sisters, Grandma's and Grandpa's, no such thing as a great aunt or great uncle in our language. When I hang out with my nieces and their children, I have all these little kids calling me Grandma, the first time that happened before I had my first bio grandchild it felt funny but I accept it, lol... :Chatter

same here! in our ways ..we dont have umm great aunties or great uncles lol... we have our clan sytem too that also distinguishes our relationships...so even if you are 1st cousins/2nd cousins or however the others say it... its still a :NoNo to date them because universally you all are still related! LMAO ... :D
