I watched it last night. It was good. Edwards didn't let him get away with anything.
What's up with Cheney not responding to Haliburton????? Hmmmmm...... It's was a great debate. Too bad Bush doesn't know as much as Cheney does about what's going on! He IS THE PRESIDENT. Four more weeks...... Hope everyone watched it! Next Presidential debate is Oct. 13th at 8pm. (Wednesday night)

I saw it just the opposite. I felt as if Edwards was a child takling to an experienced adult and was over his head. I think Cheney mopped the floor with him and there is no way Kerry-Edwards will win.
I could be wrong...but I will still say I'm right...

Hopefully not the Yankees. I was waiting for their big comeback last night but luckily it didnt happen.
As far as the VP debate... Dick Cheney doesnt even look like a VP to me... he looks more like a news anchor. Did you see when he had "no comment" on the issue of Bush amending the constitution with a gay marriage ban. I thought that was a bit funny, considering his daughter is a carpet muncher.

Actually the next presidential debate is this Friday night, October 8, 2004 - it will be more like a town hall setting. It will be filmed in St. Louis.
And because I have not really seen too much of Cheney these last four years - I watched the debate to learn more of the man who has sat beside our president. He was knowledgable, but came across a little defensive on many issues. Nothing can compare with his knowledge acquired thru his lifetime commitment to public service - I don't think that anyone can question that. I was impressed that Senator Edwards held his own - considering who he was debating with. And with Edwards short time in politics - he was a breathe of fresh air. I am tired of all the stats - tired of the same old crap that I have been hearing all these months - all they say is this....all they say is that...they flip flop....they are not honest. I so hate campaigns....who the hell cares about whose grandmother wore pantyhose in 1948 - that is about as revelant as some of the crap that is spewed by both parties... This is a very important election - I will watch the last two debates with interest....oh and where the hell is Ralph Nader in these debates??? :dontknow: Why is he not being included??? I think we are being cheated with the full scope of all our choices in America - IMO. :36: That's all....I am climbing down now.... :violin:

That part of the debate was pretty wild - because Cheney looked humbled - and actually as if he respected Senator Edwards - I was very impressed with how Edwards handled those answers - and well, I guess there really wasn't an issue to argue. It was a human moment.

I'm sorry to say I missed it. Had a work thing I couldn't miss.
But I'm with you Smokin Ace. I'm sick and tired of the bulls**t ads. We all know most of the stuff is distorted or out right lies. At least in the debates we hear more about what the candidates are planning for the next 4 years. From the horse's mouth. I also agree Nader should be invited, because the way things are now he is just sitting out there pulling democrat votes from the shadows. Maybe if we give him a better platform he will go away for good or become a democrat. The reason I feel this way is because I am strongly opposed to living with Republican policy for another 4 years. I am scared that if the Republicans win, GW will pick some of our Supreme Court Justices who will be retiring soon (voluntarily or involuntarily). I don't need his bible thumpin, gun totin', rich texas a$$ anywhere near this process. Can you just imagin what kind of laws we would have to live with!? :36: Ooops Sorry I got a little carried away. ALL YOU SKINS BETTER BE VOTING THIS YEAR. And hopefully its for Kerry/Edwards. |

I caught the last 30 min of the debate after my class. To me Edwards was trying to avoid the actual content of each question (changing the subject too much) and I personally think Chaney handled the issues like a vice president should do. He came in quiet and came out strong with good answers and an interesting message to the public.
What's with all these stupid ad's and remarks from both Prez. Bush and Sen. Kerry? Personally I think they need to quit criticizing each other and think of what's going on in the world right now. Also, I have to agree with Kiyaaniimom's quote: " I also agree Nader should be invited, because the way things are now he is just sitting out there pulling democrat votes from the shadows. Maybe if we give him a better platform he will go away for good or become a democrat. " Around where I go to college we had a debate about all the Vice Presidential Candidates and majority ruled for Nader. People said that they wouldnt doubt if Nader became president because he's just sitting there and not doing or saying much. (Staying out of the Lime Light). But like I always say: Only time can tell what's going to happen in the future. One must express their opinion before it's too late.
