I have come into a debate about this subject so i really want others opinions. It was said to me that you don't see Native men around there wife, girlfriends etc. That you see them usually doing things apart. Of course i had disagree with this statement so looking for other opinions. :Crazy

Of course there are some things that each partner does separately but there were many activities that we shared. Sometimes I would go with him to go hunting and fishing, I never wanted to shoot an animal but I had no problem catching a lot of fish! Salmon, yummmm *L* Sometimes he would come with me to dig roots and pick huckleberries. Actually sometimes he was faster than me :Chatter

You Won't Hear Too Many Men Say This!
I actually welcome my wife to come and do everything with me. Unfortunately, there are some things she just can't be there with me on. For example, I am currently serving as the President for the Board of Directors of Epsilon Chi Nu, Inc. So, I've got meetings that come up from time to time that I have to part from her but I hurry to take care of my buisness and race back home to be with her b/c I love and think so much of her.
When I go off to pow wows, I expect her to go with me. She and I both helped each other with our singing and our dancing. Since we got together, starting on our 5th year together as a couple, it has been nothing but all up hill. There is not one pow wow experience I do not want her to miss and there is not one pow wow experience of hers that I would want to miss. She is an excellent dancer who has had several wonderful opportunities to dance w/ some extrodinary men. I've only missed one that I can recall where she was gifted from the Head Dancers' Roach. I never want to be viewed as better than her, or less than her for that matter. I wish and hope that if anyone ever thinks of "LSS" as a good singer, that knows quite a few songs and has a good voice to make spines tingle that they would think the same of my wife b/c she does. Ultimately, she may think it sometimes, but there is not a day that I am not thankful for existence in my life. I'm often praying for the both of us, and others. She means the world to me and I wouldn't have it any other way. I feel lost when she is not with me.

My husband and I do everything together. I asked him if he felt that we spent too much time b/c if he did, he could always go do stuff with his fam or friends without me. He replied that he works for 10 hours a day so we maybe see each other all of 4 to 5 hours a night b/c we have to get to bed so early. We only get real time together on the weekends. So no, he loves the fact that we do everything together b/c that's why he married me...he wanted to spend all of his life with me. Which is really great b/c we're learning more about each other's tribe and traditions. We're also big football fans...(OU of course) and I think he was totally excited when he found out how I do enjoy watching sports and know about Football and Basketball.
HOWEVER!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel that it's really rare to find someone as great as my husband and very rare to find indian men who do care that much about relationships. I dated MANY MANY guys who were jerks or who couldn't commit or couldn't deal with major stuff. Or never wanted to do anything with me. So I would believe that your statement could be true in some relationships. I'm just really thankful to God that it isn't the case with mine! :)

Thanks Lss I did want a man's opinion on this as well. Working in this world takes up alot of time and what time i have left during a day i like to spend with my family. Im just told this as being needy. That everyone needs time away from each other. I was raised well rounded and mom even worked with dad(even if it was cutting wood) she had quite the arm lol. Its good to hear that it still exist and should be more often then just a rare few. I chose to be with someone because i enjoy them not just to have them around to survive. To me what your wife and yourself does is really sharing and i congrats you on that. It makes my heart happy to see couples like that.
